Adult Basic Education EL Instructor (Evening)

JOB SUMMARY:  

This Adult Education Classroom teacher will work with our adult English Language students, who come from a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities, to help them reach their language and literacy goals. Our students attend class voluntarily, and therefore come with great attitudes and an eagerness to learn. Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and integrating technology into learning. This class will be utilizing a HyFlex teaching model with both in-person and synchronous learning.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Valid MN K-12 teaching license.  

Previous experience working with English Language Learners preferred but not required.  

Previous experience working with adult learners in an interactive, results-orientated environment preferred.  

Strong communication and organizational skills. The ability to work well in a team environment. 

The patience to work with students who are learning new skills, belief in the capability of our students, and the drive to push our students to achieve higher academic levels. 

Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment with high expectations for students and staff. 

Digital literacy skills required, including integration of digital literacy into the student learning experience. 

The desire and ability to become proficient in teaching in a HyFlex environment. 

SCHEDULE: 

Mondays and Wednesdays 4-7:30pm.
