Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant – Student Support
Location:Â Â Adult Education Center- Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights
Part-Time:Â Â 12 months/131 days/ 4.25 hrs a day
Schedule:Â Â Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings; 4:30 pm – 8:45pm
Duties: Support ABE-ESL teachers and learners in lower level adult ESL classes: online and in-person; assist in online instructional breakout rooms, administer on-site progress testing in the areas of English language reading and listening skills on CASAS, and via other provided tools; monitor student attendance; conduct student follow up contact; track student data; and support volunteers. Training is provided on online instructional tools and standardized testing. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work on a team. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building/on site.Â
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an ABE academic program preferred.  Experience working with diverse populations, ESL learners, and adult learners preferred. Experience with technology (Google Workspace) preferred.  BA/BS degree preferred.  Bilingual skills a plus. Â
Rate of pay:Â $16.66/hour.
