Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant – Student Support
Location:  
Adult Education Center- Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights

Part-Time:  12 months/87 days/4 hrs a day
Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday evenings; 4:45 pm – 8:45 pm

Duties:  Provide classroom support for Level 1PM ESL class. General program and staff support to include direct student contact (in-person), record keeping, assessments, and student support activities. Collaborate with the team. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Strong communication and organizational skills.  Ability to work on a team.  Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment.  Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.  Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.  Must be physically working in the building/on site. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in an ABE academic program with adults preferred.  Experience working with diverse populations preferred.  Experience working in an academic, workforce, or school setting preferred.  Computer skills and data entry experience preferred.  Experience with Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) preferred.

Rate of pay:  $16.66/hour.

Start Date:  ASAP after closing.
