ADSIS Academic Interventionist

Qualifications/Experience:
Minnesota teaching license required.
The candidate must have a current MN teaching license in the area of mathematics for grades 6-8.  
This position follows the Flexible learning Year Calendar and will begin on July 29.
Successful background check required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught, thorough knowledge of elementary, special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching, thorough knowledge of District rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents. 

Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty. 

Specific Tasks:
Provide an ideal, positive learning environment with learning opportunities for student success. Instruct students in individual or small group sessions providing students with multiple instructional strategies. Develop, translate and integrate lesson plans, content, technology and instructional materials into learning experiences.  Adapt teaching materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students. Enter and maintain data as outlined in ADSIS Grant.  Assess and evaluate students’ progress; maintain records; prepare progress reports.
