The Administrative Intern serves as a key member of the school’s administrative team, assisting the principal in various tasks related to school management, leadership, and student achievement. This internship provides an opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience in school administration under the guidance of an experienced principal.

This internship position is typically for a fixed term, such as one or two academic years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability. The schedule may vary based on school needs but generally aligns with regular school hours.

Job Summary:

  • Assist the principal in daily administrative tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials as requested by the principal.
  • Support the implementation of school policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Collaborate with staff members to ensure efficient operation of the school.
  • Assist in monitoring student behavior, attendance, and discipline.
  • Support the implementation of programs and interventions to promote student success and well-being.
  • Respond to student inquiries and concerns, referring them to appropriate staff members when necessary.
  • Participate in instructional leadership activities, including curriculum development, assessment, and data analysis.
  • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback to teachers as directed by the principal.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement best practices and support student learning.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and knowledge of educational best practices.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to school leadership and administration.
  • Represent the school at community events, meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, community members, and external stakeholders.


  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Requires MN Teaching License in any field.
  • Applicants must be eligible for or currently enrolled in a K-12 Principal Licensure Program. 
  • Applicants with a MN Principal License will not be considered for this position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of school concepts.
  • Ability to support students demonstrating challenging behaviors and respond in crisis situations.
  • Managerial skills including scheduling, planning, problem solving, conflict resolution, organization and leadership.
  • Proficient in human relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to give work direction to others.
  • Strong background in instructional best practices.
  • Minimum of three years of classroom teaching or other related experience.
