A High School Activity/Event Worker is essential in ensuring the smooth execution of a wide range of events, such as competitions, tournaments, and community sports activities. This role encompasses diverse responsibilities, from event setup and on-site support to maintaining a safe and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Event Setup and Teardown:
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of event equipment, such as scoreboards, nets, cones, and other necessary gear.
- Ensure accurate placement of signage and informational materials throughout the venue.
Crowd Control and Safety:
- Monitor crowd behavior and proactively address any potential disturbances.
- Help manage traffic flow and organize queues for efficient crowd movement.
- Uphold event policies, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe experience.
Event Operations Support:
- Assist event staff, officials, and athletes with various needs during the event.
- Help with timing, scoring, and compiling event statistics as required.
- Distribute promotional materials or merchandise to spectators.
- Provide information and answer questions from attendees.
Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to handle emergencies, including minor injuries or medical incidents.
- Follow established emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Post-Event Duties:
- Participate in post-event cleanup, including removing trash and debris.
- Safely store all equipment and materials used during the event.
