Full Time – 12 month, salaried employee
Shared position between ISD 318 & ISD 317 (Grand Rapids and Deer River)PURPOSE:
To provide leadership to support our achievement and integration initiatives, as provided for in MN Statute 124D.861Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate multi-district initiatives related to diversity and equity.
- Coordinate equitable learning opportunities (PreK-12) in alignment with the Achievement and Integration plans.
- Work cooperatively with school administrators and provide leadership and support for staff in integration/educational equity programs.
- Communicate with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) regarding the district’s achievement and integration plan.
- Lead the process to develop the district’s achievement and integration plan and corresponding budget.
- Collaborate with other districts and community organizations.
- Implement and supervise the Advancement, Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, at the direction of district administration, including supporting and implementing the AVID curriculum; hiring, training, and supervising AVID tutors; and coaching elective teachers. (Pursue training and certification as a District AVID Director if needed).
- Provide training to district staff, focused on equity and culturally responsive instructional practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
BA Degree
Master's degree (preferred)
Current MN teaching license (preferred)
Administrative license (preferred)Experience preferred
Classroom teaching experience
Experience or credentials with the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program
