Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 is a dynamic and innovative suburban public school district serving approximately 8,000 students. The District includes 8 elementary schools with kindergarten through grade 5 (some with voluntary pre-kindergarten programs), two middle schools with grades 6-8, one high school with grades 9-12 and one alternative high school. The District also includes one of the most extensive Community Education programs in the state, serving newborns up through senior citizens.

Position Overview:

  • Community Education/Adult Basic Education/ESL Teacher
  • Schedule: We have morning classes from 9:30-12:30, afternoon classes from 1:00-3:30pm, and evening classes from 6:00-9:00pm. Substitute teachers will be needed on an “on-call” basis.
  • Compensation/benefits: Per Unit Agreement

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Instructs students when the classroom teacher is absent
  • Maintains attendance records when the teacher is absent
  • Follows the classroom teacher’s lesson plans and instructions
  • Communicates with the classroom teacher, as needed

Qualifications:
Current MN Teaching License or a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience with adult students
  •  Cross-Cultural experience
  •  Good computer skills
  • Strong math teaching skills and Language Arts (GED Prep)
