Position:Â Adult Basic Education InstructorÂ
Start Date: 1/3/25
Schedule:Â Monday 9-3 pm ,Thursaday 9:30 am –Â 12:30 pm, plus prep (11.25 hrs/week)
Salary: $32.81 per hour or per salary schedule, https://www.isd622.org/about/human-resources

Summary: Â
Conducts appropriate level of instruction for adult students in the areas of Adult BasicEducation, English as a Second Language, and General Education Development (GED). with a focus on IT and a statewide PARA and IT management.Â
Required Qualifications:
1. Teaching Licensure K-12
2. Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students;
3. Provide a positive behavioral atmosphere for students;
4. Work cooperatively with individuals and teams;
5. Willingness to use technology as part of curriculum;
6. Excellent communication skills with people of diverse backgrounds including
students and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Education;
3. Adult Basic Education Teaching Licensure;
4. Previous Teaching Experience;
5. Experience and training in Adult Basic Education;Â
6. Experience and strength in teaching math
Essential Duties &Â Responsibilities:
1. Instructs classes ranging from Reading skills, Writing, Math, General Education and English
as a Second Language based on the instructors area of expertise;
2. Participate in program planning/common planning activities with the assistance of the
Coordinator and plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, goals
and abilities of the adult student;
3. Design lesson and curriculum plans;
4. Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
5. Participate in program and staff development activities;
6. Uses a variety of instructional methods, materials, and techniques. Including incorporating
technology into teaching and learning;
7. Monitor and record student attendance daily;
8. Collaborate with staff to test students according to weekly NRS testing lists;
9. Coordinate with Students to take appropriate assessments to use in counseling student in
additional courses or tests the student will need to take to reach their goals;
10. Ability to organize data to produce student reports, and maintain accurate, complete, and
up-to-date records;
11. Evaluates students’ progress regularly ;
12. Counsels with students regarding instruction and program services;
13. Other duties as requested by Coordinator.
