Qualifications:   

  • High School diploma required, additional training preferred
  • Effective communication skills in person and on the phone
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
  • Experience with adult, English Language and diverse learner populations is preferred.
  • Bi/multilingual preferred
  • Knowledge, proficiency, and accuracy with word processing, database, spreadsheets, Internet, Google Drive (Collab) and technology for the office
  • Organizational ability
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, supporting other clerical and teaching staff
  • Familiarity with community resources
  • Able to work a flexible schedule which includes at least one evening a week and three-week summer session in July.

Responsibilities:

  • Receptionist at a busy learning center (greet students, answer phones, answer questions and refer learners to appropriate program and/or other resources)
  • Register and assess learners upon entry
  • Proctor Official GED testing
  • Records management- initiate student folder process, organize student records, and maintain monthly new student list
  • Assist teachers with entry assessment and post-testing for class placement and monitoring of level gains
  • Assist with learner follow-up upon exit from program
  • Assist with Family School intake and registration
  • Enter student fees into Eleyo
  • Copying for teachers and classes
  • Maintain bulletin boards and signs for site
  • Mail distribution
  • Assist students with computer access and learning
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation: 
RAVE Clerical Association – Wage Group VI :  $20.19 – $22.66 Hourly (based on 2024-25 contract)
