Job Summary:   The 6-12+ Grade Content Coordinator provides leadership and support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices across all subject areas in grades six through transition plus. This role focuses on fostering excellence in instruction and achievement, and alignment with district goals. The position promotes equity, innovation, and continuous improvement in instructional practices to ensure all students reach their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Instruction and Achievement Team
  • Supervise and facilitate the curriculum review cycle across all 6-12 content areas
  • Coordinate district-wide articulation, collaboration, and alignment related to curriculum and instruction
  • Ensure a strong emphasis on core instruction, tier two interventions, inquiry-based learning, formative assessment, and technology integration
  • Ensure curriculum alignment and inclusivity with collaboration with special education staff
  • Provide leadership for program evaluation and data collection, driving continuous improvement
  • Identify and address instructional needs by arranging and delivering targeted professional development opportunities
  • Develop and oversee professional development calendars
  • Mentor and support building administrators and teachers in implementing instructional strategies at the secondary level.
  • Responsible for recruiting, screen, hire, train, assign, and evaluate personnel
  • Supervise assigned certified and classified personnel to ensure alignment with district goals
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, including co-teaching or demonstrating instructional strategies as needed
  • Formulating and managing designated team budgets with the approval of the director of Instruction and Achievement 
  • Ensure compliance with district policies related to procurement and bidding criteria
  • Facilitate both long-term and short-term planning for instructional initiatives and curriculum development
  • Convene and facilitate district committees to address curriculum, instruction, and achievement needs
  • Partner with building administrators to provide both accountability and support for instructional initiatives
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations, including businesses, local governments, higher education institutions, and community organizations
  • Participate in district leadership activities as assigned
  • Perform other responsibilities related to curriculum, instruction, and achievement as assigned

 
Education and/or Experience

  • Current Minnesota teaching license
  • Current Minnesota administrative license or currently enrolled in a program
  • Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction or related field
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • K-12 classroom teaching
    • Instructional leadership
    • Curriculum development
    • Staff supervision
    • Structured literacy
    • Foundational skill-building
    • Evidence based early learning strategies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community
  • Knowledge of and experience with 6-12 instructional best practices across all content areas
  • Experience with data analysis, program evaluation, and systematic instructional improvement
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with technology integration to support foundational skill-building and inquiry-based learning
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • A strong understanding of graduation requirements and preparing students for career and college readiness

  • Position involves extended periods of sitting while working with computers
  • Position involves frequent fingering keys repetitive motions operation computers or other technology equipment
  • Position involves occasional lifting up to 10 pounds of office supplies or mail
