PURPOSE OF POSITION: 
Minnetonka Public Schools has multiple elementary choirs for grades 3, 4, 5 and 6.  One grade 3 choir on the East side of elementary buildings and one grade 3 choir on the West side of elementary buildings.  There are also two 4-6th grade choirs: one auditioned, one non-auditioned.  The purpose of the assistant positions is to provide logistical support to each choir. No musical training is necessary. Work can be flexible with your daily schedule.
 
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:   
Dates:  2024-25 school year (current – 5/21/25)
Work schedule is flexible, but will include regular meetings with the director, attendance on concert nights (TBD), and the ability to meet deadlines dependent on the ensemble’s calendar.
There are four (4) Positions:
1. Grade 3 Anchor Assistant Director-East, practices on Thursdays at Scenic Heights Elementary
2. Grade 3 Skipper Assistant Director-West, practices Mondays at Deephaven Elementary
3. Grades 4-6 Select Assistant Director-Audition Choir, practices on Wednesdays at Clear Springs Elementary
4. Grades 4-6 Core Assistant Director-Non Audition Choir, practices on Wednesdays at Clear Springs Elementary
  
REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Scheduling rehearsal space, concerts, and special events.
  2. Editing the choir handbook.
  3. Scheduling Concert times, dates, and locations.
  4. Organizing the choir tour of the elementary schools.
  5. Parent communication regarding rehearsal and concert dates.
  6. Choir library organization.
  7. Attendance at rehearsals is required. Amount and times may vary at the discretion of the choir director.
  8. Managing roster and contact information.
  9. Contacting parents regarding absences and maintaining attendance records.
  10. Meet with directors as needed to go over the concert season.
  11. Manage audition sign-ups (manage signup genius and google survey/forms.)
  12. Manage choir volunteers.
  13. Order sheet music, t-shirts, and other supplies.
  14. Keep track of and manage the budget.
  15. Schedule and manage choir party details.
  16. No music background necessary, but a love of music and/or elementary aged children is preferred.
  17. Welcoming, assisting, and ushering on concert nights.
