Salary schedule based on Teacher’s Contract, previous teaching experience and education.

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The academic success coach position will develop and monitor student academic achievement plans designed to increase student academic performance. The academic success coach will utilize multiple data measures to inform and formulate goal areas.  The academic success coach will be an advocate and champion for students in assisting them in meeting educational goals and will work in collaboration with teachers, principal and families. This will include being an instructional coach working with teachers on the academic achievement of underperforming students with a focus on accelerating student learning, providing job embedded professional learning opportunities,  and forging collaborative partnerships with families to support student learning.
  
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implements instructional strategies designed to increase student academic performance.
  2. Work with Principal and teachers to monitor progress through the use of formative and summative data. 
  3. Incorporate relevant professional learning opportunities for teachers.
  4. Work in collaboration with classroom teachers to achieve intended academic outcomes for students.
  5. Work with teachers and families to review and develop student goals.
  6. Engage students in the learning environment in meaningful ways
  7. Other duties as assigned. 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
 
Required:

  1. Current Minnesota Teaching License, School counseling license, school social work license or other education license.
  2. Understanding of Data Driven Decision Making Model
  3. Knowledge of research and best practices in increasing student academic performance.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  5. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  6. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  7. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

Desired:

  1. Previous experience leading instructional efforts designed to increase student academic performance
  2. Previous experience working with a diverse group of learners.
  3. Masters degree in education preferred.
  4. Fluent in Spanish
