Description:  At will, on call, day to day coverage for school Health Office Nurses and/or nursing care of students with special health care needs. 

Qualifications:  Current RN or LPN Minnesota Nursing License.  Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Hourly Rate:   Substitute rates based on the 2024-2026 MPHP Statement of Understanding/Work Agreement.
$1.00 below step 1 of the B-3-1 band and grade for substitutes hold an LPN license with the Minnesota Department of Nursing.
$1.00 below step 1 of the B-3-2 band and grade for substitutes holding a RN license with the Minnesota Department of Nursing.

2024-2025 School Year
$25.91 per hour if you hold a current Minnesota LPN license.
$31.09 per hour if you hold a current Minnesota RN license.

2025-2026 School Year
$26.85 per hour if you hold a current Minnesota LPN license.
$32.21 per hour if you hold a current Minnesota RN license.

Job Summary:

  • Provide daily medical care including scheduled medication administration, first aid and emergency care for Rochester Public School students and staff in accordance with District Policy and Procedures and in compliance with student health plans.
  • Administer medications and specialized treatments as needed and in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and licensure parameters.
  • Provide information and support for school staff to ensure effective health office services as directed by the district Licensed School Nurse.
  • Perform other duties within the level of responsibility of the position as assigned by Student Support Services administrator and Licensed School Nurses.
