The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has openings for Special Education Paraprofessionals, Extended School Year at various programs across our district.

Description:
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of students with special needs.  Paraprofessionals may be working with students on an individual basis or in small groups.

Qualifications:
•          Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
•          Experience in working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
•          Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) is required. The training is offered by the school district.
•          Must pass a background check.
•          Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality and using good discretion.
