Description
JOB ID: 4240 – Special Education Educational Assistant – PCA 2024-2025 School Year – Part-time positions District-Wide, beginning 8/27/2024. Base pay plus a $2,500 stipend for PCA work. The stipend is prorated for less than 6 hours/day and is distributed evenly over the annual paychecks.
Scheduled days/hours: Standard hours are 6.75 hours/day M-F with the opportunity to add additional hours.
Qualifications Required: This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and Highly Qualified status. Highly Qualified status can be achieved by completing One of the following: (1) Two year Associate of Arts degree; OR (2) The equivalent of 60-semester credits OR (3) A passing score on the MN Para Pro Test (The district can provide supported resources for completing the assessment)

In cases when summer employment is not offered or is not comparable to school-year employment, an employee in this position may have access to unemployment insurance during the summer break depending on individual circumstances as determined by the state agency.***
Duties: Will work under the direction of a licensed teacher to provide supervision of and support for students with special needs as indicated in Individual Education Plans. Services are provided both in general education and special education settings. ***Educational Assistants regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible to receive district insurance benefits.***
