POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Small Wondes Preshool Coodinator is responsible for supporting and maintaing a quality educational environment for Small Wonders Preschool.  This position will assist the Small Wonders Supervisor and the Director of Early Childhood in providing guidance, leadership and support to Small Wonders Teachers and Assistants.  The Coordinator will help to provide meaningful experiences for families and support school success for all preschool students. 

  • This is a 261 day a year position. 
  • Salary range: $72,000 – $80,0000 depending on qualifications.  Salary will be prorated to the start date.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

  1.  Supports and communicates the Small Wonders Preschool program vision, and sets goals that are supportive of the early childhood education department and district mission, vision and strategic plan.
  2.  Assists the Small Wonders Supervisor in the hiring and placement of Teachers and Assistants.
  3. Assists in the planning and administering of staff training for the Small Wonders Preschool program.
  4. Assists the Director of Early Childhood and Small Wonders Supervisor in assessing the job performance of Teachers and Assistants.
  5. Manages, approves time and provides support for Small Wonders Assistants using the Time Clock Plus system.
  6. Manages the daily staff schedule, including the placement of substitutes. If needed, fills Teacher or Assistant vacancies personally when a sub cannot be found.
  7. Collaborates with staff in the departments of ECFE, ECSE, and Wonder Zone along with the Family Outreach Specialist and Office Manager in the delivery of services.
  8. Assists with updating of all Small Wonders Preschool forms/documents, preparation of all enrollment/re-enrollment materials and parent information.
  9. Assists with creating and/or reviewing written communication pertaining to Small Wonders including calendars, parent handbook, lesson plans, parent letters and other communications.
  10. Schedules and gives informational tours of the Early Childhood center and follows up with prospective families. Records and maintains a log of prospective families.
  11. Assists with all Small Wonders Preschool registration processes, including setting up classes in Eleyo, rostering students in appropriate classes, and maintaining the Small Wonders portion of the Eleyo system.
  12. Processes Small Wonders Preschool tuition payments and prepares deposits. Tracks late fees and follows up on past due accounts.
  13. Assists the Small Wonders Supervisor in developing the program area preliminary budget, revised budget as well as budget transfers and adjustments.
  14. Assists Director of Early Childhood and Small Wonders Supervisor in compiling financial information and reports.
  15. Helps with collecting and maintaining student records including attendance, health forms, and permission slips.
  16. Organizes supply/equipment requisitions, checking on back orders and discontinued items. Unpacks and disperses supplies, monitors and reconciles materials expenditures and open purchase orders.
  17. Anticipates and is responsive to the needs and requests of students, parents and staff. Forwards concerns to the Small Wonders Superviser when appropriate.
  18. Works with all Small Wonders Preschool staff in the planning, implementation, and operation of the Small Wonders Preschool Program.
  19. Provides support in classrooms when necessary, enforces classroom management techniques that are effective and uniform to the program, and provides constructive feedback to Teachers and Assistants.
  20. Assists with planning and supporting fundraising and program development activities.
  21. Participates in Early Childhood Education and District committees, task forces and teams as needed.
  22. Assists in planning special events such as Open Houses, Conferences, School Photos, Book Fair, evening events, etc.
  23. Prioritizes tasks and projects on a daily basis and on the annual cycle. Manages multiple requests simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
  24. Performs other duties as assigned 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Specific training or job experience required before appointment) :

  1. A Degree in Early Childhood Education
  2. A minimum of 5 yeas experiene as a preschool teacher. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Motivated self-starter with excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  2. Background knowledge of Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and early learning curriculum implementation.
  3. Works well with team members and has a desire to work with children, parents, staff and current and prospective families.
  4. Flexible, demonstrates an ability to lead, and has an understanding of child development.
  5. Proficient using Windows, Apple and Google Suite software operating systems. Proficient in software systems including word processing, desktop and web publishing, spreadsheets, databases and communication software. 
  6. Working knowledge of student information systems (Infinite Campus), program registration systems (Eleyo), and staff management systems (Time Clock Plus).
