St. Francis Area Schools is located in northern Anoka County and southern Isanti County. We are a rural/suburban district, covering 165 square miles with our early childhood center, three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one ALC. Our school district annually educates more than 4,000 students and employs more than 750Â staff members.
Qualifications
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education, with an EBD license. We are looking for a team-oriented individual that is comfortable and experienced in working with students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders in a center based setting within our St. Francis Learning Center.
Summary of Duties

Provide direct special education services for students who have disabilities in an online setting.

Work with the special education team to create individualized programs to meet the needs of each student.

Implement specific curriculum and instruction to students in the program to assist them in understanding their disability and to learn essential life skills.Â

Work with classroom teachers to facilitate opportunities for students to participate in their home school (Middle School, High School, Saints Academy.

Communicate with families regarding students’ educational programming and progress.

Develop, write and implement IEPs for assigned caseload (approximately 4Â – 10 students).

Work with the assessment team to develop educational assessments of students as required.   Â

Work with assessment team to completing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and implement Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPs) to address challenging behaviors.Â

Experience with providing specialized instruction focusing on delays in the areas of social skills, functional skills and behavior modifications. Â
- Experience with curriculum and evidence based practices (antecedent-based intervention, modeling, reinforcement, self-management, social skills training, self-regulation, transitions, following directions, task completion and safety).
- Create an engaging virtual environment that encourages learning.
- Collect relevant data to ensure the educational setting is best for the student.
Contract Days/Hours
The duty day is Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 11:00am or 11:00am – 3:00pm, 186 contract days per year (includes professional development time).
Salary
Based on the current Teacher Work Agreement, will negotiate based on qualifications/years of experience.
