Summary
Description
The Full-Service Program Assistant is responsible for implementing, integrating, and aligning the community school strategy at the site level. Working in partnership with the school administrator, families, students, and the Site-Based Leadership Team, the assistant assesses needs and assets to co-create a learning environment that supports a thriving school community where students flourish. The assistant must help create a high-performing strategy that connects community members, supports students and families, leading to successful outcomes.
Supervision Received and Exercised
- Works under the general supervision of a program coordinator or administrator.
- May provide day-to-day work direction to clerical, technical and professional program employees.
Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
Leadership
- Manage and assist with volunteer and community events representing the school.
- Regularly communicate with district or community-based organization leadership to assess alignment.
- May provide day-to-day work direction to assigned program staff.
Data, Analysis and Records Management
- Performs research on subjects assigned; selects research channels; analyzes and summarizes the material assembled during research; compiles information from program surveys, summarizes results for the Office of Title I Federal Programs administration and makes related recommendations.
- Monitors and maintains budget and other program records; prepares related reports.
- Identifies potential funding sources; assists with the preparation of grant proposals and applications for desired projects; prepares periodic reports to funding agencies as required.
- Assists with developing overall program planning and implementing specific program activities.
- Assists the Office of Title I Federal Programs department, programs and schools, with the development, monitoring and fiscal coordination of contractsÂ
- Assists the program coordinator or administrator with designing training relating to the program; present information about the program during training sessions.
- May perform light clerical duties related to program support.Â
Liaison
- Serves as initial department contact; responds to a variety of questions about the program; replies to inquiries which require research and coordination of information from several sources.
- Establishes and maintains contact with students, parents, other district staff, community organizations, businesses, public agencies and/or groups or individuals as appropriate; acts as a liaison with these groups or individuals; attends meeting to represent the program.
Project Management
- Facilitates group meetings with students, parents, other district staff members, community organizations, business or government agency representatives and/or others as appropriate; leads discussions; mentors students; reports information gathered to the program coordinator or administration as appropriate.
- Develops program communications; designs and prepares newsletters, brochures, flyers and other related program documentation.
- Coordinates program recognition events, training session and other program meetings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Each position may require knowledge, skills or abilities specific to an educational program(s).
- Knowledge of research methodology and techniques.
- Knowledge of the techniques for providing good customer service.
- Knowledge of computer software programs utilized to develop communications, maintain records and prepare reports and to perform other work activities related to the position.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop successful working relationships with persons representing diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor¿s degree and three years of education, professional level administrative support, project coordinator, program liaison, customer service, partnership development or related work experience. (Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating and/or managing programs in an educational, non-profit, or human services setting.
- Knowledge of school environment ¿ tiered interventions, professional learning communities, etc.
- Considerable ability to plan, organize and implement projects.
- A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families.
- Ability to negotiate and mediate in various situations;
- Available to work a flexible schedule that includes summer months and some evenings and some weekends.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Computer literacy to include the use of Microsoft Word and Google applications;
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment, tact, confidentiality, diplomacy, patience, and courtesy.
Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule
This is a 12-month position working 40 hours per week.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the School and Community Service Professionals (SCSP) negotiated labor agreement. The labor agreement and salary schedule can be found at:Â Labor Agreements.
