Schedule: Full days, every other day
Position Description:
Candidates selected to fill the role of Enrichment Specialist for Wayzata Public Schools will be responsible for providing academic enrichment opportunities in a variety of core subjects to advanced learners. In addition to providing instruction, you will also work collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify students’ needs and develop teaching strategies.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid MN Teaching License covering grades 6-8.
- Ideal candidates will have:
- A sound understanding of multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
- A high degree of knowledge in the areas of identification, instruction and support of high achieving and gifted learners, including twice-exceptional students.
- Experience working with classroom teachers in defining students’ needs and developing strategies for learning, engagement and social/emotional support.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
- The ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances.
- Proficiency with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
- The ability to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning and needs.
- Experience with teaching middle school students.
