POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a unique opportunity to support middle school activities including developing programs for students in collaboration with the district activities director as well as support students after school and in the performing arts center.Â
Performs professional work managing the operation of middle school activities and community use of facilities; administer program budgets, leading staffing efforts and coordinating the scheduling of related sites, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Director of Community Education.Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years experience in athletics programming, scheduling, budget management, facility management and operations, or equivalent combination or education and experience. Valid driver’s license in the State of Minnesota.Â
MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages, coordinates, and plans middle school activities.
- Schedules, hires, supervises, and recruits staff, coaches, officials, and volunteers; trains staff on procedures and program policies.Â
- Under the Direction of the CE Director, creates and evaluates programming based on students and community needs while maintaining current trends.
- Develops and maintains processes for communication of facility usage for district departments.Â
- Collaborate with district leadership to establish and interpret guidelines and procedures for facilities use.
- Manages the rental relationships, schedules, resolves conflicts and ensures timely collections for the use of district facilities.
- Works with the district Grounds and Maintenance personnel and administration to audit the condition of facilities and to determine priorities of repair of specialized facilities used by school district staff, students and community groups.
- Serves as a liaison among activities director, coaches, advisors, and custodians to supervise use of the performing arts center and other spaces for school sponsored events.
- Work closely with the Theatre Director to recruit, train and organize high school student ushers, light and sound booth operators and other roles.
- Attends and leads various meetings and committees
- Manages the purchasing of equipment and supplies for programs needs while maintaining all inventory.
- Provide information and creation of programs to be advertised through seasonal brochures, press releases, website, social media and other marketing efforts utilized by the district.Â
- Interacts with community members related to concerning issues.
- Provides excellent customer service and responds to inquiries and complaints.
- In attendance or on call whenever programs or services are running, regularly including nights and weekends.
- Hours:Â 12 – 8:30 pm M-F, can flex if schedule allows.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$60,000 – $65,000
