Media Center Paraprofessional, Full Time 2024-2025


Dover-Eyota High School is seeking a Media Center paraprofessional. This full-time (35 hr/week) position begins with the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Objective: The Media Center Paraprofessional operates the Student Center during the school day and helps to facilitate learning and group work.


Required Qualifications/ Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 

  • Ability to pass competency test OR Two-year degree

  • Strong work ethic, high ethical standards, self-confidence, good time-management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and listening skills

  • Positive, professional, and collaborative with others

  • Enthusiastic about working with young people


Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Knowledge of literary materials and general functioning of a media center in a school setting

  • Knowledge of and support for the district’s educational systems

  • Computer and technology knowledge and skills


Performance Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to be knowledgeable about all district policies and procedures

  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other staff

  • Keep proper records of books being checked out and returned

  • Communicate overdue books with students

  • Organize the Student Center resources as directed

  • Monitor and supervise students visiting the Student Center


Abilities Required:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Patience with students

  • Problem solving with little or no guidance

  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities with frequent interruptions

  • Ability to use Google and Google features to complete daily tasks

  • Exceptional organizational skills

Dover-Eyota is a vibrant public school district located 12 miles east of Rochester, Minnesota.  The secondary building currently serves approximately 570 students in grades 6-12 and employs a faculty committed to student success.
