Lego Robotics Assistant Adviosr – Lincoln Middle School / District
 

As an assistant advisor of a Robotics team, you help inspire and empower students to be innovators. You’re working side by side with robotics participants to build their leadership and problem-solving skills and, more importantly, their sense of belonging and self-confidence. 

Qualifications/Experience:

Preferred robotics or other engineering field-type experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:

Exemplifies the following five character traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty. 

Specific Tasks:

The Robotics assistant advisor should work with the head advisor to encourage students, develop skills consistent with the program, perform public relations duties necessary to promote robotics within the community and facilitate the community outreach contacts for each team, submit all reports and information requested by the head advisor or activities director, be in control of student conduct while under his/her charge, and perform all other duties as assigned by the head advisor. Works with the Advisor to coordinate plans for robotics practice.  The assistant advisor will need to attend the online training sessions and regional calls led by program directors. 

Hours Per Day:

Student contact hours vary per day during the season. 

One regional event per year on a Saturday in December.

If a team advances, there would be a state meet in February in the metro area.
