Reading Specialist Teacher
 

The Reading Specialist works with students through our Schoolwide Title I program in small group or individual settings.  This teacher is part of the overall AFSA community of teachers on the K-6 team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate teaching area
  • Valid MN teaching license or appropriate license in teaching area

 
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Displays comprehensive content knowledge
  • Establishes a learning environment that sets high expectations
  • Provides learning activities that are highly relevant, academically rigorous, engaging and connected to the appropriate curricular goals and standards.
  • Follows advisory schedule daily.
  • Provides timely and productive feedback and assessment for all students
  • Develops challenging professional goals and strive to accomplish them
  • Presents a professional image at all times
  • Participates in school wide professional development goal setting
  • Other duties as assigned

 
Supervision:

  • Reports to Elementary Academic Director
