Position:  Intervention Education Assistant – Hmong Dual Language Immersion Program
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 30 hours per week
Start Date:Â ASAP
Pay:Â Â $22.00 per hour

Position Summary:
The Immersion Program Intervention Educational Assistant will work with teaching staff to provide student support in the Immersion program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist and support students within the immersion classroom/s in academic areas, as supported by the Title I schoolwide plan
- Conduct assessments to assess students’ mastery of the material taught
- Assist in maintaining assessment records, preparing progress reports, and monitoring student progression
- Prepare learning materials as directed by the classroom teacher
- Organize students’ work/records for parent-teacher conferences
- Work with students on academic skills assigned by the classroom teacher
- Attend and participate in planning sessions with teaching staff
- Other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or building principal
Required Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:
- An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
- Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelors degree, or
- Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaEducator Assessment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Awareness of one’s own racial and cultural identities and demonstrated ability to work across differences.
- Demonstrated content knowledge and ability to use precise and/or academic language in both English and Hmong for the grade level being supported
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English and in Hmong
- Demonstrated ability to support the use of effective strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students in a dual language immersion classroom.
- Demonstrated ability and skill in supporting culturally responsive teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Education)
- Prior education assistant/paraprofessional or teaching experience
