Job Responsibilities:
1. Works with building leadership and building occupants to handle requests and to perform daily operations.
2. Inspects, monitors, and maintains the facilities heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, security, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems/panels.Â
3. Monitors the performance of the custodial staff, provides work direction and training to all custodial staff in the facility, and reviews custodial assignments.
4. Repairs equipment such as desks, chairs, tables, lockers and other school equipment.
5. Performs general maintenance repairs to include: painting, plumbing and equipment repairs.Â
6. Coordinates and performs exterior maintenance including lawn mowing, trimming, debris clean up, cleaning exterior windows, walls and ensuring all sidewalks and stairs are free of ice and snow.
7. Cleans, repairs, tests, and operates steam or hot water boilers, water heaters, compressors and other pressure vessels in accordance with Minnesota State Statutes.Â
8. Coordinates the receiving and distribution of supplies and equipment within the school.
9. Maintains a positive working environment with all building occupants and coordinate facility use for internal and external customers.
10. Orders and keeps a proper inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.Â

Job Qualifications:
1. Current experience as a Head Custodian or Developmental Trainee with the District preferred.Â
2. High school graduate or equivalent.
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Evidence of State of Minnesota 1st Class C Stationary Engineers License OR a minimum of a current Special Engineers License and the willingness to obtain the required 1st class license as soon as permitted by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
5. Evidence of excellent customer service, leadership and interpersonal skills.
6. Technical skills for operations of district programs to assist in the operations of Buildings & Grounds.Â
7. Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to organize and maintain records.
8. Demonstrated accurate mathematical skills.Â
9. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.
10. Demonstrated ability to effectively successfully complete a pre-placement physical capabilities examination at Concentra at the District’s expense.
