Edina Public Schools is seeking exceptional candidates with a proven record of success for a Director of Achievement Equity and Multi-Lingual Learner Programming position scheduled to begin on July 1, 2023. With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision and core values, the Director of Achievement Equity and Multi-Lingual Learner Programming is responsible for providing leadership and expertise to advance district efforts to ensure equitable access, opportunities, and improved outcomes for marginalized students. Responsibilities include direction of the district’s cultural proficient school system efforts, multi-lingual learner programming, shared oversight of the district’s dual-language immersion program, and the implementation of district-wide programs of engagement, equity, inclusion, and belonging so that every student may realize educational excellence. 

Reports to: Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Provides leadership and direction for the district’s culturally proficient school system (CPSS) efforts, multi-lingual learner programming, and shared oversight for the district’s language immersion programs.
-Provides leadership and builds relationships between the community and the school district as it relates to equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives.
-Recruits, hires, develops, supervises, and evaluates Cultural Liaisons and other staff as assigned.
-Communicates the district’s vision, mission, core values and beliefs and provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff, and the community concerning areas of expertise/knowledge.
-Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district, and departmental meetings.

Essential Position Duties
-Builds effective, collaborative relationships with administration, school board, employees, community, and governmental agencies.
-Recognizes and coaches high-quality instructional delivery for multi-lingual learners.
-Exhibits a deep understanding of intercultural development framework(s) and the ability to apply in the educational context.
-Engages in cross-governmental agency collaboration related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
-Demonstrates the ability to successfully navigate complex socio-political contexts and situations.
-Plans, organizes, and oversees community relations projects and events.

Qualifications: A master’s degree, a Minnesota administrative license, and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience are required. Minnesota English language learner teaching licensure preferred.

Compensation: This is a twelve-month position with an excellent salary and benefits package pursuant to the Superintendent’s Advisory Council guidebook.
