Paraeducator Supplemental Programs (AVID program)
Part-Time – 2-6 hours per day depending on location
Middle School sites: Coon Rapids Middle, Nordale Middle, Jackson Middle
High School sites: Anoka High, Andover High, Blaine High, Champlin Park High, Coon Rapids High
Duties: Provide support for students in the AVID elective class for academic needs. Support subject study groups in the areas of Math or Science or English or Writing or Social Studies. Monitor progress.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be physically working in the building. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability/desire to work with technology and computers. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to supervise students. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with diverse student and/or population preferred. Enjoy working with middle and high school aged students preferred. Ability to motivate and encourage students to reach post-secondary educational goals preferred.
Rate of Pay: $16.50/hour, $18.10/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits, $18.90/hour with BA degree
