Job Summary: The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to the following fundamental job duties:
- Responsible for compiling monthly financial reports for the Board of Education and submitting to the Executive Specialist to the Superintendent and School Board.
- Responsible for developing and completing sections of the Annual Budget document and distribute appropriately.
- Maintain Administrative Procedure Manual. Provide assistance to departments by answering questions relating to procedures and appropriate use of forms.
- Assist with maintenance of district wide record retention and disposition program.
- Responsible for requesting certificates of insurance from district’s insurance representative as needed by the building staff.
- Liaison for vehicle and liability related accident reports. Report auto and liability claims to insurance provider. Follow up on insurance claims.
- Assist Director with annual renewal of district’s insurance.
- Prepare and submit the semi-annual claim for refund of gasoline tax to State of Minnesota.
- Prepare and submit the annual Unclaimed Property Report and follow-up annually on any property listed as unclaimed through State of Minnesota.
- Assist with year-end audit by providing support to auditors in the form of completing various memos, letters, and forms.
- Provide extensive support with Microsoft products.
- Assist with preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the ASBO Certificate of Excellence award program.
- Process purchase order requests as requested.
- Coordinate both internal and external W-9 and set up vendors within the Finance system.
- Process checks as requested.
- Provide technical and clerical support for the Business Services Department.
- Performing other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Vocational and/or business training.
- In-depth administrative support, Microsoft Office products, and accounting work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitities include:
- Excellent verbal and written skills, including knowledge of office practices, grammar, spelling and public school district finance terminology.
- Ability to interact with people in a professional and effective manner.
- Knowledge of finance resources and operations (i.e., EFP systems)
- Ability to analyze and create data reports.
- Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications with proficiency in MS Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet.
- Experience with on-line ordering and account reconciliation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and ingenuity.
- Value cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts and terminology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to develop and maintain record systems.
- Ability to work successfully in a team setting.

Salary: View salary grid on Page 5, Section 1, and Classification, Pages 6 – 7, Section 3 of the Administrative Education Support Professionals (AESPs) contract;
Job Type: Full Time, 260/261 days
