Minimum qualifications include:Â
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- MN teaching license in appropriate field – Language Arts 5-12 OR Language Arts 5-8.
- If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 license.
Job Summary:Â
Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school and/or program for which employed; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable and work collaboratively with others.
Tasks involved in fulfilling the above duty/responsibility:

Showing deep knowledge of content and pedagogy, including discipline structure, prerequisite relationships, content-related pedagogy, interdisciplinary connections, and academic and social-emotional supports.

Showing knowledge of scholars, including child adolescent development, learning processes, skills, knowledge, language proficiency, interests, cultural and lived experiences, and special needs. Â

Setting clear and differentiated instructional outcomes, developed using data from multiple sources, that integrate academic and social-emotional development and represent appropriate grade-level standards, significant learning in the discipline, and communicating high expectations for each scholar.

Showing knowledge of classroom, building, and district academic and social-emotional resources aligned to instructional outcomes and teacher professional resources to extend content knowledge and pedagogy; showing knowledge of and exercising professional judgment regarding implementation of high-quality instructional materials to ensure access to rigorous content and support specific scholar needs, furthering engagement and mastery. Â

Designing coherent instruction, including learning activities, materials and resources, and instructional groups structured to engage, encourage higher-level thinking and agency, support and address individual needs, and advance the learning needs; creating structures to ensure equitable access to learning, resources, and materials.Â

Designing formative and summative assessments aligned to instructional outcomes, with clearly defined criteria and standards; consistently using assessment data to direct planning, preparation, and support of individualized scholar instruction
Salary and Benefits
The starting pay for this position is between $47,509 – $53,459 and is based on Education Minnesota Cloquet Master Agreement. Your initial placement is dependent on your qualifications (education and years of relevant experience).
You will be eligible for paid sick and safe time leave.
